A remote crash and potential remote code execution vulnerability has been disclosed by Bitcoin Core $BTC , affecting all versions before 29.0 and after 0.14.0:

The eCash $XEC reference node implementation from Bitcoin ABC is not vulnerable to this bug.
The potential issue has been identified and a preventive patch committed in 2017 by  Amaury Séchet, removing the risk of a use-after-free that is the root cause of this CVE: https://github.com/Bitcoin-ABC/bitcoin-abc/commit/f4f64ae534f255504b8e2286af1e11014b847dca
